The translation department was established in 2013 to be one of the active departments in the Faculty of Arts. Since then, the department has been trying hard to develop its study plans and curricula to be in the same way as the corresponding departments in the sober and ancient universities that preceded it long in terms of establishment. Note that the department is in continuous scientific development both at the level of the curriculum and in the development of the skills and expertise of the teaching staff, and the department has been, and continues to, fortify the scientific level of its students by involving them in specialized courses in the field of translation with their counterparts in Iraqi and foreign universities. The establishment of this department is in line with the aspirations of Wasit University and its active efforts to open up and meet the needs of the labor market and provide it with graduates qualified scientifically and cognitively. No one knows what a major role translation plays in bridging the cultural and cultural gap as an important and effective tool in building bridges of cultural and human communication between nations and peoples, specifically at a time when the world is no longer sprawling, but has become a small village connected to borders by the great impact of globalization in this regard. .
The scientific message of the department is clear in its current form and has been developed in accordance with the scientific standards applicable in the corresponding departments of the sober, prestigious and well-acclaimed universities with scientific sobriety and high professionalism. Through its mission and vision, the Department seeks to provide the community with qualified cadres with all the scientific and knowledge tools that are related to them and communicate with these tools effectively in the service of their country and society by employing translation properly at the scientific and practical level. Despite its recent establishment, the department has established a good number of local and international conferences through electronic communication platforms as a result of the impact of the Corona pandemic and the lack of attendance communication, as well as the establishment of many workshops and discussion workshops held in the corridors of the section, all of which aim to provide the students of the department with various skills and knowledge in the field of their allocation and instill a spirit of openness to the new tools of translation science.
